Sigma Protogen V1.0
Introducing the Sigma Protogen! With a new style, this design features no complicated hinges or latches, making it easier to build and fur. This version also has better airflow/breathability, ensuring maximum comfort when wearing the mask.
The Sigma Protogen supports two types of LED panels including P2.5 HUB75 LED panels and custom WS35 LED panels. With the STL files pre-oriented and split, and the vacuum-forming buck design optimized, you can now create your own PETG visors.
The 3D STEP CAD files are included, allowing you to modify and tweak the design as per your needs. Printing the Sigma Protogen is easy, and the design is compatible with any printer, although you may need to modify or split the parts requiring glue or the addition of screw mounts.

3D Printing:
These files are optimized for printing on the BambuLab X1C/P1S/P1P but can be used on any printer. Recommended build volume of 250x250x250mm - largest file is the buck for vacuum forming. I recommend using TPU98A/TPU95A for printing in your desired color or PETG if you plan to sand/paint your protogen. Do not use PLA, it will melt if you leave it in a car!
Required Hardware:
This model does not require glue, it can be built with metric hardware requiring the following:
- M3x12mm screws
- M3x16mm screws
- M2x6mm screws (if using the WS35 panels)
- 1/4" diameter x 1/4" tall N52 magnets (I use K&J Magnetics)
- Ferrous M3x8mm screws (needs to be magnetic)
The inner visor for the P3 HUB75 panels requires hot glue and for you to remove the back injection molded plastic support.
Information for full electronics setup/links is included in the readme file in the download folder. Generally requires a microcontroller with HUB75 breakout/capable of running FastLED/SPI output. Also requires a 5V battery supply.
Notes:
- This is a FREE asset, please do not expect support for any of my free assets. And PLEASE read the documentation, chances are your questions can be answered by it.
- The base version does NOT include manufacturing rights, this is for you to build one only.
- A separate version can be purchased allowing the manufacturing of this design on a small scale.
- Do not distribute any of the design files. They are only for you. If you sell this as a commission with the Extended version, the files are not to be sent and distributed to clients. They will need to purchase the base version to download 3D printing files.
- The minimum order amount will put the LED boards at ~$75 per with a minimum order of 4 boards. If your design only uses 2 boards and you would like to sell the other 2, this is not a problem! If you would like to sell more than the two please purchase the extended version.
